I have been here!

My Mom and I have been here a few times. Its breathtakingly beautiful. But I DO NOT recommend visiting on really hot days, the castle does NOT have air conditioning, and I almost passed out there on a tour once and we had to leave. All those stairs (there are literally thousands of stairs on the property), that elevation AND the heat? Nope, bad idea. Theres a zoo on the property with zebras, William Randolph Hearst and Julia Morgan (the architect) did a phenomenal job on this place. And if you're ever in Monterey/Pacific Grove (they run into each other you honestly really can't tell where one ends and the other begins, and you SHOULD visit if you're already in San Simeon, they're pretty close) go visit the Julia Morgan house. I've heard its also beautiful.
